Just Getting Started...

With the encouragement of a nice handful of people, I am now blogging. This is exciting.

As I began thinking about this blog, God opened my eyes to the scripture:
"Now to Him who, by the (action of His) power that is at work within us, is able to (carry out His purpose and) do SUPERABUNDANTLY, far over and above all that we ask, think, or imagine (infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes and dreams)-to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever!"
-Ephesians 3:20-21

I thought about blogging in the past, but never actually acted on it. You know, this blogging thing is kinda simple. It's not something extraordinary or mindblowingly radical. I turn on my laptop, open up the internet, type in my user name and password and write my thoughts down into this text box and click "Publish Post." Ahhh, but that is where the mighty and awesome power of our God breaks through every barrier of what our limited thinking creates. I began to realize that because my mind had been so transfixed upon some kind of huge explosion of something amazing that I could do for the Lord in the future (you know, when I actually grow enough to reach that "level"), that I had completely turned a blind eye to what the Lord could be using through me RIGHT NOW. And not only that, but isn't my God big enough to take what seems like a simple blog and turn it into something beyond what I could have ever asked for, thought of, imagined, prayed about, dreamt of, desired or hoped for? Well, that is what it says in Ephesians 3:20-21!!!

The bible says that God is using us and desires to use us in what He is building regardless of how we got here. God is not looking at what we've been through, what our pasts our like, or what we think we are capable of, He is just looking for people who are willing to be His vessels, who will take their eyes off of themselves and say 'Yes Lord, use me, I'll follow You wherever You go.' I wasn't persistent about blogging because I never considered myself to have the wonderful ability to write something that other people might actually want to read or get anything out of...but this blog isn't about me.

Paul writes, "For I always pray to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the deep and intimate knowledge of Him by having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set apart ones), and so that you can know what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power IN and FOR us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength which He exerted in Christ Jesus when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that s named, not only in this age but also in the age and world which are to come." Ephesians 1:17-21

I pray that this blog will be an outlet through which the eyes of our hearts are flooded with light...
